Another straight-forward title, reflecting one of the main plot points of the episode – The Donna Reed Show.

Summary: The girls eat pizza and watch the incomparable Donna Reed Show. Dean has salad with a side of misogyny. Lorelai convinces Luke to spruce with a new coat of paint. The Gilmores won’t go to Europe in the spring. Dean doubles down on the oppressed housewife joke. Luke and Lorelai get close behind the counter. Rory plays Donna Reed with pearls and Lime Fantasy Supreme. Stella gets loose. Luke breaks the Lemon Lamp. Christopher shows up.

Season 1, Episode 12

Title: Double Date

This one’s a double, double date. Sookie and Jackson + Lorelai and Rune. Lane and Todd + Rory and Dean. It’s a doozy.

Summary: The girls have a morning pop tart and coffee action sequence. Lane wants to date Todd. Lorelai hates Walmart. Sookie date preps for Jackson. Rune can’t get over Lorelai’s shoe size, and ruins the whole evening. Lorelai and Luke play poker but are interrupted by an angry Mrs. Kim. Lane and Rory get busted. Sookie and Jackson have the whole ‘first date, beginning of the relationship’ glow. Luke asks Lorelai out, kind of. Continue reading

Season 1, Episode 8

Title: Love and War and Snow

The Girls cover the diverse topics of love (Rory, Lane), war (Luke), and snow (Lorelai). Not very inventive for a title, but it’s accurate.

Summary: Lane joins Marching Band and the Rich Bloomingfeld Fan Club. Rory has the cookies and the love and the Dean. Mr. Medina is sacrificed by the snow gods and ends up in Stars Hollow, much to Lorelai’s pleasure and Luke’s dismay. Taylor and the townspeople hold their annual Battle of Stars Hollow reenactment. Old softy Luke brings them cocoa and coffee. Rory introduces the Gilmores to frozen pizza.  Continue reading
